We have finished the evaluation of the Bearwood Bonds project!
The project ran from January 2021 till June. We are so pleased that this project was able to go ahead and help us reach people we wouldn’t have come into contact with on social media, even during the middle of a pandemic in a safe and secure way.
What was the Bearwood Bonds Project?
The project was a way for us to keep in contact with the community. Hub staff posted leaflets and residents left the leaflet in the window if they fancied a social distanced chat, had ideas for local change or wanted to know more about the Community Hub.
What was the impact?
Through this project we were able to reach isolated members of the community, set up litter picks on our local roads and even find more lovely volunteers. This project was important as it allowed us to connect with people offline at a time when communicating on social media had become the norm. We were able to gather information about our catchment area, and who was already or may in future want to be involved with the Hub. We were also able to promote other current projects that ran during lockdown and increased the Whatsapp groups that contribute to the local foodbank through their street collections.
We’ve learned a lot too - including what didn’t work as well as we expected and how to try and do this work more efficiently in the future
Who was involved?
Many locals chose to get involved in the project by responding to our request to place our flyers in their window, asking to speak with Hub staff or contacting us online after receiving a flyer. We are so grateful to everyone who got involved in this project but a special thank you has to go to our funders SCVO and to our partners Warley Wood Community Trust and the Dorothy Parks Centre.
The full impact report will be available to read on the impact section of our website.
